Welcome to the Mother testing programme. We appreciate you taking the time to participate.

Please read the following general notes before downloading and installing the test release.

Installation

Mother can be installed merely by dragging Mother.app into your Applications directory. Mother installs no scripting additions. Mother can be uninstalled by deleting Mother.app.

In addition to the application package you may find directories related to Mother in the following locations:

/Users/<your username>/Documents/Mother
/Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Mother
/Users/<your username>/Library/LaunchAgents
/Users/<your username>/Library/Preferences

Should you uninstall Mother you may also wish to delete the above directories.

Mother Documents

Whenever Mother is run the app checks for the existence of the folder /Users/<your username>/Documents/Mother. If the folder does not exist Mother creates it and populates it with the default set of script documents. So if you wish to revert to the default script catalog at any time just delete the above folder and relaunch Mother.

Application Updates

Mother supports automatic application updating. So hopefully your initial version of Mother will be painlessly upgraded as the testing programme proceeds.

Error Logging

Mother features extensive error and process logging. To view the error log select Window - Console from the Mother application menu. Click the Log button to view the realtime log. To email the log to us click Send. Note that the log file normally recycles itself at about 2MB, however this does not occur whenever the log window is open.

If you are reporting a problem it would be appreciated if you could also send us the corresponding log file.

Crash Reporting

Mother may crash at this stage. When this occurs you will see the normal Apple crash report form. Unfortunately this report is for Apple only. However, when you relaunch Mother you will be given the opportunity to send the crash report to us here at Mugginsoft. It would be a big help if you could do this. The report is uploaded via HTTP.
